Tämä artikkeli käsittelee Sir Christopher Leen filmografiaa. Christopher Lee (s. 1922) on näytellyt yli 60 vuotta kestäneen uransa aikana yli 250 elokuva- ja televisiotuotannossa. Tiivistelmää Leen urasta [muokkaa]
Lee aloitti uransa näyttelijänä brittiläisessä draamaelokuvassa Corridor of Mirrors (1948), jossa hänen roolinsa oli Charles. Samana vuonna hänellä oli pieni rooli Laurence Olivierin tähdittämässä Hamlet-elokuvassa, joka sai parhaan elokuvan Oscarin vuonna 1949. Sen jälkeen hän esiintyi lukuisissa sivurooleissa ennen läpimurtoaan, kuten elokuvissa Karmiininpunainen merirosvo (1952), Punainen mylly (1952), Myrsky yli Niilin (1955) ja Afrikka liekeissä (1956). Läpimurtonsa Lee teki ”Olentona” Hammer Film Productionsin kauhuelokuvassa Frankensteinin kirous vuonna 1957. Seuraavana vuonna hän näytteli Kreivi Draculaa vuoden 1958 versiossa Dracula. Siitä tuli hänen ensimmäinen seitsemästä Dracula-roolistaan Hammerilla. Muut Leen Dracula-elokuvat ovat Dracula – pimeyden ruhtinas (1966), Dracula on noussut haudastaan (1968), Dracula, paholaisen lähettiläs (1970), Vampyyrin arvet (1970) ja Draculan kosto (1972) ja Dracula elää ja voi hyvin (1973).
Pitkän uransa aikana hän on näytellyt kymmenissä kauhuelokuvissa ja sen takia Leetä on kutsuttu Boris Karloffin ja Bela Lugosin manttelinperijäksi, toisinaan jopa syrjäyttäjäksi. Hammerin kauhuelokuvien kautta Lee tapasi kuulun kauhunäyttelijä Peter Cushingin, josta sittemmin tuli yksi hänen lähimmistä ystävistään. Lee ja Cushing tekivät yhdessä yhteensä 23 elokuvaa, joista mainittakoon Baskervillen koira (1959), Muumion kosto (1959), Kauhujen juna (1965), Huuto yössä (1970), Hirviö (1971), Kauhun pikajuna (1972), Keskiyön kauhut (1973) ja Kauhujen talo (1983). Muita Leen tunnettuja kauhuelokuvia ovat muun muassa Poltettujen noitien hotelli (1960), Pelon tunne (1961), Fu Manchu – kauhun mestari (1965), Rasputin – riivattu (1966), Paholaisen morsian (1968), Verenpunainen naamio (1969), Uhrijuhla (1973) ja Kuiskaava kuolema (1976).
Lee ei ainoastaan näytellyt kauhuelokuvissa, vaan mukaan mahtuu myös scifiä, toimintaa, trillereitä, seikkailua, rikosta, komediaa ja draamaakin; muun muassa Liian kuumaa tavaraa (1960), Sherlock Holmes ja kuoleman kaulanauha (1962), Julius Caesar (1970), Muskettisoturien seikkailut (1973), Koston merkki (1974), 007 ja kultainen ase (1974), Kaappaus Bermudan kolmiossa (1977), Paluu Taikavuorelta (1978), Karhusaari (1979), 1941 – Anteeksi, missä on Hollywood? (1979), Silmä silmästä (1981), Sekasotku rantahotellissa (1984), Mio, poikani Mio (1987), Poliisiopisto 7 – Moskovan keikka (1994) ja Jinnah (1998). 2000-luvulla Lee näytteli ennen kaikkea Taru sormusten herrasta -elokuvatrilogiassa (2001–2003) sekä Tähtien sota -elokuvissa Kloonien hyökkäys (2002) ja Sithin kosto (2005). Merkittäviä esiintymisiä oli myös elokuvissa Päätön ratsumies (1999), Purppuravirrat 2 – Ilmestyskirjan enkelit (2004), Jali ja suklaatehdas (2005) ja Corpse Bridessa (2005) äänenä. Vuonna 2010 Lee lainasi ääntään Pekoraalille menestyselokuvaan Liisa Ihmemaassa.
Frankensteinin, Muumion ja Draculan roolien lisäksi hän on näytellyt Sherlock Holmes -filmatisoinneissa itse Sherlockia kolme kertaa, Henry Baskervilleä ja Mycroft Holmesia, tohtori Fu Manchua viisi kertaa, Grigori Rasputinia, Francisco Scaramangaa, Kreivi de Rochefortia kolme kertaa, Muhammad Ali Jinnahia sekä Sarumania ja Kreivi Dookua kolme kertaa.
Leen vastanäyttelijöinä on ollut monia suuria nimiä: Laurence Olivier, Burt Lancaster, Zsa Zsa Gábor, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Charlton Heston, Donald Pleasence, Richard Widmark, Jack Lemmon, Bette Davis, Anthony Quinn, David Carradine, Vanessa Redgrave, Angela Lansbury, Johnny Depp, Natalie Portman, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Vaikka Lee on työskennellyt näyttelijänä yli 60 vuoden ajan ja monet hänet roolisuorituksistaan ovat saaneet kriitikoilta positiivista palautetta, hän on voittanut yhteensä vain kahdeksantoista elokuva-alan palkintoa ja ollut ehdokkaana seitsemän kertaa eikä ole koskaan ollut edes Oscar-, Golden Globe- tai BAFTA-ehdokkaana. Lee on kuitenkin saanut tämän sijaan monia kunnianosoituksia: muun muassa BAFTA:n kunniajäsenyys, brittiläisen imperiumin komentajuus (CBE), Venerable Order of Saint Johnin komentajuus (CStJ), ritarius ja taiteen ja kirjallisuuden kunniamerkki (komentaja) Ranskan hallitukselta. Leetä pidetään laajalti yhtenä suurimmista brittiläisistä näyttelijöistä.
