NHL-kausi 1961–1962
NHL-kausi 1961–1962 oli National Hockey Leaguen historian 45. kausi. Sen aikana kuusi NHL-joukkuetta pelasi kukin 70 runkosarjaottelua.[1] Stanley Cupin voitti Toronto Maple Leafs, joka kukisti finaalisarjassa Chicago Black Hawksin otteluvoitoin 4–2.[2][3]
Montreal Canadiensin maalivahti Jacques Plante sai sekä Hart Memorial Trophyn että Vezina Trophyn.[4][5][6] Runkosarjan pistepörssin ja Art Ross Trophyn puolestaan voitti Chicago Black Hawksin Bobby Hull.[7] Hull teki 70 ottelussa yhteensä 84 tehopistettä, joista 50 oli maaleja ja 34 syöttöpisteitä.[8] Kyseessä oli kolmas kerta NHL:n historiassa, kun pelaaja onnistui tekemään 50 maalia yhden kauden kuluessa. Aiemmin tähän saavutukseen olivat yltäneet Maurice Richard kaudella 1944–1945 ja Bernie Geoffrion kaudella 1960–1961. Sekä Richard että Geoffrion olivat Hullin tavoin tehneet tasan 50 maalia kauden aikana.[9]
Parhaalle puolustajalle annettava James Norris Memorial Trophy myönnettiin New York Rangersin pelaajavalmentajana toimineelle Doug Harveylle, jolle palkinto oli jo seitsemäs kahdeksan vuoden sisällä.[10][11] Parhaan tulokkaan Calder Memorial Trophyn sai puolestaan Montreal Canadiensin Bobby Rousseau.[12] Pudotuspelien pistepörssin voitti Chicago Black Hawksia edustanut Stan Mikita. Hän teki 12 ottelussa 21 tehopistettä, joista 6 oli maaleja ja 15 maaliin johtaneita syöttöjä.[13]
