The Notorious Byrd Brothers on yhdysvaltalaisen The Byrds-yhtyeen tammikuussa 1968 julkaistu viides studioalbumi, jota monet pitävät yhtyeen parhaana.[3] Sen kuuluisimpia kappaleita ovat "Artificial Energy", "Old John Robertson" sekä Carole King/Gerry Goffin -käsialaa ollut "Wasn't Born to Follow", joka oli seuraavana vuonna mukana elokuvassa Easy Rider – matkalla. Singlenä julkaistiin niinikään King/Goffin -kappale "Goin' Back" ja se oli korkeimmillaan Yhdysvaltain Billboard-listan sijalla 89.[4]
David Crosby erosi yhtyeestä kesken albumin äänitysten, koska hän ei suostunut levyttämään Carole Kingin ja Gerry Goffinin sävellyksiä, vaan olisi halunnut ottaa mukaan omia poliittisesti kantaaottavia laulujaan.[5][6] Myös rumpali Michael Clarke erosi/erotettiin yhtyeestä nauhoitusten ollessa vielä kesken. Toisin kuin Crosby, Clarke on mukana albumin kansikuvassa.[7]
