Neville Goddard
Neville Lancelot Goddard (19. helmikuuta 1905 − 1. lokakuuta 1972) oli barbadoslaissyntyinen yhdysvaltalainen kirjailija, joka kirjoitti Raamatusta, mystiikasta ja elämäntaidosta. Hän myös piti luentoja metafyysisistä aiheista.[1]
Goddard muutti Barbadokselta Yhdysvaltoihin vuonna 1922. Hän asettui New Yorkiin, jossa hän aluksi toimi balettitanssijana. 1930-luvulla Goddard aloitti opiskelut etiopialaisen rabbin alaisena, joka tutustutti hänet kabbalaan.[2][3]
Goddard ei pitänyt Raamattua historiallisena teoksena, vaan enemmänkin omanlaisena vertauksena ihmisen psyykkeelle. Hän ei uskonut ”ulkopuoliseen jumalaan”, joka vastaa rukouksiin. Goddardin mukaan henkilö itse on ”luoja”.[4]
Muun muassa hengellinen kirjailija Wayne Dyer sai vaikutteita Goddardin työstä.[1]
