Bot status for LA2-bot

In the recent weeks, I (LA2) have been analyzing and correcting some bad ISBNs and literature citations. This work is being done in parallel in many languages, see my statistics. When the wrong ISBN is given, I manually search library catalogs to find the correct one. However, some cases are more suitable for automation, such as when the hyphens are missing or put in the wrong places. I'm developing a bot for this, based on the pywikipediabot framework. The first task is to correct hyphens in ISBNs. Currently this is needed in 1100 articles in the Finnish Wikipedia. As you can see, LA2-bot has already contributed a few edits of this kind. Later tasks might include ISSNs or the introduction of templates such as cite book, or its equivalent. --LA2 8. lokakuuta 2007 kello 16.39 (UTC)

Pyytäisin itselleni bottitunnuksen nimellä Käyttäjä:Usp. Aluksi tekisin lähinnä yksinkertaisia korvaa, yms. muokkauksia ja taitojen karttuessa myös hankalempia. Tekisin toistaiseksi muokkauksia AWB:llä, mutta joskus ehkä myös muita (jos niitä on). Vai onko pakko rekisteröidä erillinen bot-tunnus, kuten UspBot. --Usp 30. lokakuuta 2007 kello 15.58 (UTC)

Olin siis ajanut bottimuokkauksia omalla tunnuksella, enkä suotta luonut uutta tunnusta, kyseessä kun olisi siis toistaiseksi vain AWB-käyttäjätunnus. Loin nyt tunnuksen Käyttäjä:UspBot, mutta sillä ei toki ole nyt vielä yhtään muokkauksia. Olenko ymmärtänyt oikein, kun olen ymmärtänyt, että tämä tunnus eroaa tavallisesta käyttäjätunnuksesta vain siten, että tuoreista muutoksisista se voidaan piilottaa. --Usp 11. joulukuuta 2007 kello 20.14 (UTC)
