Bilbaon Guggenheim-museon on suunnitellut kanadalais-yhdysvaltalainen arkkitehti Frank Gehry. Modernin taiteen museo sijaitsee Espanjassa, Bilbaossa Nervión-joen rannalla, 16 metriä kaupungin yleistä katutasoa alempana. Sen yksi sivu on joen suuntainen, toinen lähes nojaa La Salve -siltaan.

Museon ulkomuoto on erikoinen: sen seinät on päällystetty puolen millimetrin paksuisilla titaanilevyillä ja muodot ovat joustavia sekä kaarevia. Museo on suunniteltu kokonaan tietokoneella, sillä lujuuslaskelmia ei olisi voitu tehdä perinteisillä menetelmillä.

Kun museo vuonna 1997 avattiin, se kiinnitti heti hyvin suurta kansainvälistä huomiota. Nykyisin museo on yksi Bilbaon tärkeimmistä turistivetonauloista. Museon taidekokoelma koostuu Solomon R. Guggenheimin säätiön teoksista tuoden laajan katsauksen 1900-luvun kuvataiteeseen.

Tutkimusten mukaan museo toi ensimmäisen viiden toimintavuotensa aikana Baskimaahan yli miljardi dollaria, enemmän kuin kymmenen kertaa museon rakennuskustannukset, sekä yli 190 miljoonaa dollaria paikallisina verotuottoina. Vuonna 2010 museo toi tuloja lähes 300 miljoonaa dollaria. Guggenheim Bilbaosta tuli toimintamalli monille muille talousvaikeuksissa kamppaileville kaupungeille.

Vaikka soveltuvuustutkimuksia Guggenheimin kanssa on tehty eri puolilla maailmaa, vain yksi niistä, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, on toteutumassa ja valmistuu vuonna 2013. Ongelmaksi on nähty, että niin sanottu Bilbao-efekti on ollut vaikeasti toistettavissa.
