Eikös Isle of Wight' käänny suomeksi muotoon Wightinsaari? —Tve4 ^(Gblk) 4. maaliskuuta 2008 kello 14.37 (UTC)

Sanatarkasti se kai kääntyisi noin, mutta en usko että maantieteellisten nimien käännöksissä ollaan ihan sanatarkkoja. Isle of Mankin on Mansaari eikä Maninsaari (myös muotoja Manin saari ja Wightin saari näkee, mutta erikseen kirjoitettuina).--217.112.249.156 4. maaliskuuta 2008 kello 14.48 (UTC)

Poistin muutaman tarpeettoman wikilinkin, jotka viittaavat jokapäiväisiin sanoihin ja käsitteisiin, ovat muuten vain tarpeettomia (maantieteelliset alueet), tai eivät liity itse linkitettyyn käsitteeseen (esim. viinitila -> viini).

Mistä nimi "Wightsaari" on otettu? En löydä sitä suomenkielisistä karttakirjoistani tai Kotuksen sivuilta. Ehdotan että artikkeli siirretään nimelle Isle of Wight. --Savir (keskustelu) 6. heinäkuuta 2020 kello 11.43 (EEST)
