The Undertones on vuonna 1975 Pohjois-Irlannin Derryssä perustettu punkrockia ja uutta aaltoa edustava yhtye, jonka suurin ja tunnetuin hitti on ”Teenage Kicks” vuodelta 1978. Kyseinen kappale kuuluu nykyäänkin punkrockin helmien joukkoon; siitä ovat tehneet omat versionsa muun muassa Ash, Busted ja Nouvelle Vague.

Ensimmäisen elinkaarensa aikana yhtye siirtyi jatkuvasti punkrockista kevyempään suuntaan, eikä sen viimeistä studioalbumia The Sin of Pride voi parhaalla tahdollakaan kutsua punkrockiksi.

The Undertones hajosi vuonna 1983, mutta palasi jälleen yhteen 1999 ilman laulaja Feargal Sharkeytä.

Vuonna 2006 Undertonesin singlehitti ”Jimmy Jimmy” soi ainakin kahteen kertaan Conan O'Brienin viihdeohjelmassa Max Weinberg Sevenin esittämänä.
