Big Brother & The Holding company oli sanfranciscolainen rock-yhtye, joka vaikutti lähinnä 1960-luvulla. Yhtye perustettiin vuonna 1965. Big Brother tuli kuuluisaksi oikeastaan laulajansa Janis Joplinin (1943-1970) avulla. Big Brotherin levy Cheap Thrills ilmestyi v. 1968. Levystä tuli jättimenestys. Joplinin lähdettyä yhtye yritti vielä jatkaa uraansa, mutta se hajosi pian How Hard It Is -levyn ilmestymisen jälkeen. 80-luvulla Big Brother kasattiin uudelleen ja se on tehnyt kiertueita uuden kitaristin ja laulajan kanssa.
