Kuvaus
English: A kinetic sculpture entitled Heureka, created in 1963/64 by Jean Tinguely, on the shore of Lake Zurich. Parts of an old fork hay tedder are visible. – The sculpture is as much an auditory event as it is visual, with all the rusted whirrings of the gears, belts, wheels, and pulleys. I found a video (alas, no sound) on YouTube, which conveys some of the effect. Watch the video all the way to the end, the last few seconds convey the scale of the machine. It was interesting trying to photograph the sculpture, because there is so much going on. I decided to take a few shots of the gears I like the most. I found it impossible to take a picture of the entire machine that captured enough of the details that made it interesting.

Switzerland

According to article 27 of the Copyright Act (en/de/fr/it), works installed at or on publicly accessible places or ground may be pictured, and such pictures may be offered for sale, sold, transmitted, or otherwise published. The image must not be three-dimensional and it must not be possible to use the picture for the same purpose as the original.

The works must be permanently installed, but for the purposes of the law, "permanent" means a fixed installation which may be temporary -- time limited -- but not "accidental", e.g. due to transport of the work.
