The Undertones on vuonna 1975 Pohjois-Irlannin Derryssä perustettu punkrockia, power poppia ja uutta aaltoa edustava yhtye, jonka suurin ja tunnetuin hitti on ”Teenage Kicks” vuodelta 1978. Tästä klassikosta ovat tehneet omat versionsa muun muassa Ash, Busted ja Nouvelle Vague.

Ensimmäisen kokoonpanonsa aikana yhtye siirtyi jatkuvasti punkrockista popimpaan suuntaan. The Undertones hajosi vuonna 1983, mutta palasi jälleen yhteen 1999 ilman laulaja Feargal Sharkeytä.

Yhtyeen mukaan nimetty esikoisalbumi (1979) valittiin vuonna 2005 hakuteokseen 1001 albumia jotka jokaisen on kuultava edes kerran eläessään.

Vuonna 2006 Undertonesin singlehitti ”Jimmy Jimmy” soi ainakin kahteen kertaan Conan O'Brienin viihdeohjelmassa Max Weinberg Sevenin esittämänä.
