Mindy Lee Sterling (s. 11. heinäkuuta 1953 Paterson, New Jersey)[1] on yhdysvaltalainen näyttelijä ja ääninäyttelijä. Hän nousi kansainväliseen tunnettuuteen Frau Farbissinan roolilla Austin Powers -elokuvatrilogiassa (1997–2002).[2]


Nuoruus

Sterling syntyi viihdetaiteilijoiden perheeseen: hänen isänsä oli koomikko ja näyttelijä Dick Sterling, äitinsä taas tanssija. Varhaisnuoruudessa perhe muutti Floridaan, missä Sterling aloitti näyttelijäopinnot 13-vuotiaana. 1980-luvulla hän liittyi Los Angelesin The Groundlings-improvisaatioryhmään, josta tuli uran ponnahduslauta.[3] Sterlingin ensimmäisiä televisiotöitä oli lastenohjelma Dusty’s Treehouse (1973).[4]

Sterling oli naimisissa näyttelijä Brian Gadsonin kanssa, ja heillä on yksi poika, Max Gadson, joka on autismikirjolla.[9]

Terveys

Vuonna 1998 Sterlingiltä löydettiin rintasyöpä rutiinimammografiassa. Hän kävi läpi leikkauksen, sytostaatti- ja sädehoidot ja on ilmoittanut, ettei syöpä ole uusiutunut.[10]
