Lapsuus ja nuoruus[muokkaa | muokkaa wikitekstiä]
Wahlberg syntyi yhdeksänlapsiseen perheeseen, jolla on sukujuuria sekä Irlannissa, Kanadassa että Ruotsissa. Teini-ikäisenä Wahlbergilla oli ongelmia virkavallan kanssa, ja hän joutui yli kuukaudeksi vankilaan pahoinpitelystä.

Wahlberg nousi kuuluisuuteen New Kids on the Block -poikabändissä vaikuttaneen isoveljensä, Donnie Wahlbergin siivellä. Hän ryhtyi kuitenkin pian luomaan myös omaa musiikkiuraansa taiteilijanimellä Marky Mark ja nautti kohtalaista menestystä.
Musiikkiuransa jälkeen Wahlberg keskittyi näyttelemiseen. Sen ohella hän toimi mallina, poseeraten muun muassa Calvin Kleinille, pääasiassa alusvaatemainoksissa. Wahlbergin debyyttielokuva oli Päätään pidempi (1994), jonka pääosaa näytteli Danny DeVito. Wahlbergin varsinainen läpimurtoelokuva oli Paul Thomas Andersonin ohjaama Boogie Nights (1997), jossa Walberg esittää pääosassa 1970-luvun amerikkalaista pornotähteä. Sen jälkeen hän esitti pääosaa monissa elokuvissa, joista menestyneimpiä oli Apinoiden planeetan uudelleenfilmatisointi vuodelta 2001.
Martin Scorsesen elokuvasta The Departed Wahlberg nimettiin ensimmäistä kertaa ehdokkaaksi merkittäviin elokuva-alan palkintoihin. Hän oli ehdolla roolistaan etsivä Dignamina sekä Oscarin että Golden Globen saajaksi.[1] 2000-luvulla Wahlberg on esiintynyt useissa toimintaelokuvissa, kuten Shooter (2007) ja Max Payne (2008).
Näyttelijän työn ohella Wahlberg toimii yhtenä Entourage-ohjelman tuottajista. Ohjelma perustuu löyhästi Wahlbergin uran alkuajoille.

Wahlberg on naimisissa malli Rhea Durhamin kanssa.[2] Heillä on neljä yhteistä lasta: vuosina 2003 ja 2010 syntyneet tyttäret sekä 2006 ja 2008 syntyneet pojat.[3] Esikoistyttären syntymää varjosti Wahlbergin sisaren Debbien menehtyminen samana päivänä.lähde?
