Volume 8: The Threat is Real on yhtyeen Anthrax kahdeksas studioalbumi. Ignition Records julkaisi levyn heinäkuussa 1998. Yhtye ja Paul Crook tuottivat albumin, ja singlen "Inside Out". Muut albumilta julkaistut singlet olivat "Crush", "P & V" ja "Born Again Idiot".
Yksi albumin bonuskappaleista on cover Radioheadin kappaleesta "The Bends".
