Three Dog Night oli yhdysvaltalainen rockyhtye, joka toimi vuosina 1968–1975. Nimi tulee sanonnasta: "On niin kylmä yö, että tarvitsee kolme koiraa sänkyynsä pysyäkseen lämpimänä." Siitä on kiistelty mistä tämä sai alkunsa, eskimoilta vai Australian alkuperäisasukkailta.[1][2]
Yhtye aloitti kolmella laulajalla, Danny Huttonilla, Chuck Negronilla ja Cory Wellsillä. He solmivat levytyssopimuksen Dunhill Recordsin kanssa Los Angelesissa. He tekivät aikaisia nauhoituksia Beach Boys -yhtyeen tuottaja, säveltäjä, laulaja ja instrumentalisti Brian Wilsonin kanssa alun perin nimellä Redwood.
