The Wild Rover ("Villi kulkuri", joskus myös No Nay Never kertosäkeen mukaan) on suosittu irlantilainen kansanlaulu, jonka alkuperästä ja iästä ei ole varmaa tietoa.

Laulu kertoo tarinan nuoresta miehestä, joka on kierrellyt maita vuosien ajan ja palaa kotikaupunkiinsa kantamajataloonsa. Majatalon emäntä ei suostu tarjoamaan tälle juotavaa ennen kuin laulun päähenkilö näyttää matkoillaan keräämänsä kullan. Mies laulaa kulkuripäiviensä olevan ohi ja aikovansa asettua aloilleen.

Historia

Ensimmäiset kirjatut versiot laulusta ovat 1500-luvun lopulta, mutta laulun tarkasta iästä ei ole tietoa. Joka tapauksessa laulu on kirjaamisajankohtaansa vanhempi.

The Wild Rover kuuluu irlantilaispubien esiintyjien vakio-ohjelmistoon, ja sitä pidetään yleensä juomalauluna. Kappaleen 1900-luvulla saama suosio herätti kiivaan keskustelun laulun varsinaisesta alkuperästä.
