The Hours that Remain on Mercenaryn neljäs studioalbumi. Levy on ensimmäinen, jolla Henrik "Kral" Andersen, yksi perustajajäsenistä, ei ole mukana. Tällä albumilla yhtye on valinnut edellisiä tuotoksiaan progressiivisemman lähestymistavan, mutta mukana on yhä elementtejä melodisesta death metalista ja power metalista.
