Rosabeth Moss Kanter (s. 15. maaliskuuta 1943[1] Cleveland, Ohio[2]) on yhdysvaltalainen kauppatieteen professori, erikoisaloinaan strategia, innovaatiot ja muutosjohtaminen. Hän työskentelee Harvardin yliopistossa, jossa hänellä on liiketaloustieteen Ernest L. Arbuckle -professuuri.[3]
Kanter toimi vuosina 1989–1992 Harvard Business Reviewin päätoimittajana.[3]

Kanter valmistui kandidaatiksi (psykologia ja sosiologia[2]) Bryn Mawr Collegesta vuonna 1964. Sieltä hän siirtyi Michiganin yliopistoon, missä hän opiskeli ensin maisteriksi (1965), ja valmistui tohtoriksi (sosiologia) vuonna 1967.[1]

Kanter oli vasta toinen nainen, joka valittiin pysyvään virkaan Harvard Business Schoolissa (HBS).[4] Ennen siirtymistään HBS:ään vuonna 1986,[4] Kanter toimi vierailevana professorina MIT:n Sloan School of Managementissa (1979–1986).[5]
MIT:a ennen Kanter hoiti organisaation johtamisen ja sosiologian professuureja Yalessa (1977–1986),[5] ja oli sosiologian apulaisprofessori Brandeisin yliopistossa (1966–1977).[5] 1975–1976 hän oli Post-doc -tutkijana Harvard Law Schoolissa ja 1973–1974 organisaatiokäyttäytymisen tutkimusohjelmassa Harvardissa.[5]

Kanter on saanut urallaan lukuisia tunnustuksia, muun muassa 22 kunniatohtorin arvoa.[3]
