Backstreet Boys on monia kertoja Grammy-ehdokkaanakin ollut musiikkiyhtye. Yhtyeen kokosi tuottaja Lou Pearlman Orlandossa Floridassa vuonna 1993. Bändillä on yhteensä 13 Top 40 -hittiä Billboard Hot 100 -listalla ja on myynyt yli 130 miljoonaa albumia maailmanlaajuisesti,[1] joka tekeekin yhtyeestä yhden kaikkien aikojen parhaiten myydyistä artisteista ja parhaiten myydyn poikabändin. Yhdysvaltojen Billboard 200:n mukaan Backstreet Boys on ensimmäinen artisti sitten Saden, joka on yltänyt kaikilla seitsemällä albumillaan listan top 10:een.[2]

Yhtyeen kaikkien varhaisimmatkin kappaleet ovat pysyneet suosiossa, vaikka yhtyeen soundi onkin muuttunut live-instrumentteja suosivaksi sen palattua pop-bisnekseen vuonna 2005. Vuosien 2005 ja 2006 kiertueen jälkeen yhtyeen alkuperäisjäsen Kevin Richardson jätti yhtyeen 23. kesäkuuta 2006 perustaakseen perheen,[3] mutta nykyisin nelihenkinen ryhmä ei ole kieltänyt etteikö Richardson joku päivä vielä palaisi bändiin.[4] Nykyisin ryhmä koostuu seuraavista laulajista: Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell ja A.J. McLean. Richardsonin lähdön jälkeen kvartetti on julkaissut kaksi albumia, joista viimeisin nimeltään This Is Us, julkaistiin 6. lokakuuta 2009.
