I'm the Man 1987 |
Among the Living on Anthraxin maaliskuussa 1987 ilmestynyt kolmas täyspitkä albumi. Menestyskappaleet "I Am the Law" ja "Indians" sisältävä albumi jatkoi Spreading the Diseasella avausesiintyjän aseman Metallican kiertueella ansainneen yhtyeen suosion nousua. Kappaleiden innoituksena ovat olleet muun muassa Stephen Kingin romaanit sekä sarjakuvasankari Judge Dredd. Vaikka osalla kappaleista on vakavampi sanoma, on albumi yleisesti ottaen sävyltään positiivinen ja yhtye toikin albumin myötä huumoria koko thrash metal -genreen. Among the Living on myynyt kultaa Yhdysvalloissa. Vuoden 2006 kiertueella yhtye esitti joinain iltoina Among the Livingin kokonaisuudessaan.

- Kappale Among The Living kertoo Randall Flaggista, Musta Torni kirjasarjan pääpahasta.
- Efilnikufesin on väärin päin kirjoitettuna "nise fukin life", eli nice fucking life foneettisesti kirjoitettuna. Kappale kertoo John Belushista.
