American Ghost Dance on kalifornialaisen rockyhtye Red Hot Chili Peppersin single, joka on löytyy yhtyeen toiselta studio-albumilta Freaky Styley. Kappale on albumin kolmas kappale ja toinen single. Kappale julkaistiin singlenä samana vuonna kuin itse albumikin. Kappale on hieman pitempi albumin vuoden 2003 uudelleenjulkaisulla.
Yhtyeen yhdeksännellä studioalbumilla Stadium Arcadium kappale Hump de Bump oli alunperin nimeltään "Ghost Dance 2000". Kappaleiden basso-linjat ovat hyvin samanlaisia, mistä syystö kappaleetkin kuulostavat samanlaisilta.
