5150 on Van Halenin seitsemäs studioalbumi. Se julkaistiin 1986. Se oli ensimmäinen albumi, jossa vokalistina oli Sammy Hagar. Kappaleista "Why Can't This Be Love?", "Dreams" ja "Love Walks In" julkaistiin singlet, joista parhaiten menestyi Why Can't This Be Love? Mainstream Rock Tracks -listan ykkösenä. Avauskappale "Good Enough" soi parodisen Mel Brooks avaruusseikkailuelokuvan Avaruusboltsit ravintolakohtauksessa. Itse albumi ylsi bändin historiassa ensimmäistä kertaa The Billboard 200 -listan ykköseksi ja pysyi siellä peräti kolme viikkoa.
Albumien 5150 ja OU812 Kiertueilla 1986 tour, Monsters of Rock Tour 1988, OU812 Tour Edward Van Halen soitti koskettimia samaan aikaan kuin Sammy Hagar soitti kitarasooloja. Albumi on yhtyeen kolmanneksi myydyin albumi ja myynyt Yhdysvalloissa 6 -kertaista platinaa eli kuusi miljoonaa kappaletta. Albumin nimi tulee Eddie Van Halenin silloin uuden kotistudion nimestä, joka puolestaan on nimetty Kalifornian sosiaaliviranomaisten käyttämästä koodista "5150", joka tarkoittaa pakkohoitoon menevää potilasta
